On deeper study, the Bible’s ordinary stories reveal profound meanings. Romans 1:20 says that God’s invisible qualities are understood through creation. Things appear in the natural and point to the spiritual. Or as I say, “Everything has a natural representation and a spiritual connotation.”
Hidden Messages and Future Hope
As humanity becomes more complex and troubled, God reveals deeper layers of prophecy. These messages, often poetic and full of symbols and visions, offer future hope but remain mysterious until later interpretation.
Prophets like Isaiah, Micah, and Daniel foretold Jesus’ coming, but the full meaning of their visions remained unknown until later generations saw them fulfilled.
Prophetic Promises Completed
In a turn of events, The Word became flesh as Jesus, fulfilling ancient prophecies and revealing long-hidden truths. By declaring, “It is finished,” he completed Old Testament prophecies and the Old Covenant. His life, death, and resurrection opened the way to a new covenant and a new future.
Our Future Hope
The New Testament carries an incredible theme: Jesus, now fully revealed, shares a powerful promise. He foretells His return, a moment that will usher in complete restoration and the arrival of His kingdom in all its glory. This new prophecy anchors our faith and gives hope for an expected end.
